My First Official Blog Post!

Hi Everyone,

I'm writing my first blog post to share some encouraging news--my book, Big Citizenship is going into a second printing! I am so grateful to everyone who is helping to make this book and book tour a success.

Over the past few weeks I have had the privilege to continue my travels around the country for the book tour. I am so honored by all the hosts who organized book parties. I've had a chance to do so many interesting events and just want to share the story of one amazing place I recently visited in Waltham, MA -- the bookstore More Than Words (MTW). Founded by Jodi Rosenbaum who is a Teach for America alum, More than Words is a non-profit bookstore that trains young people from disadvantage backgrounds in entrepreneurial skills while simultaneously working on their higher education and professional growth. The young people I met at MTW inspired and moved me. More Than Words and everyone involved with it exemplify the spirit of Big Citizenship I am trying to promote with the book.

In addition to More than Words, I also want to thank everyone who has hosted an event for me recently including: Jim and Kristen Atwood, Greg and Anne Avis, Barry Bluestone, Andrew and Ellen Hauptman, Rusty Grieff, Alan Jones and Ashley Garrett, Ben Goldhirsh, Michael Hebb, Michelle Kydd Lee, Gail Nayowith, Farbood Nivi, John Sarvey, Laurie Tisch, and Whitney Williams.

Also a special thanks to Boston Rotary Club, City Year New York and City Year Seattle, Grockit, Microsoft, the Sorrento Hotel, and Year Up

In the next coming weeks I will be in New Bedford, MCLA, the Clinton School and City Year Little Rock, the Constitution Center in Philadelphia, and Dallas, Texas. I am honored to be speaking at the Feinberg Law Group breakfast and the Rotary Club of Cambridge. I am also excited to be doing an event at the JFK Library with my good friend David Gergen on December 7^th.
